I am so sorry to hear that your dad has passed away Margret, I know you will miss him. My prayers are with you and your family.
I shall always remember his stories of his youth in Canada, his boundless energy, his generosity and my first lesson on the evils of Schnapps, among other things. He will be missed.

We have so many loving memories of Paul during our summers spent at Frost Point. Our kids will always remember Opa for his garden, cleaning and cooking fish better than anyone, cookies, filling the water jugs, and his happy laugh. We will remember him for his friendship, years of projects on the cottages, countless glasses of wine and beer shared, and his twinkling blue eyes. He was a second father to Thom. "I remember following him around, summer after summer as he worked on his many projects. He taught me to roof a house, fix water pumps and small motors. Paul was a thoughtful, wise, modest man who dispensed advice with witty sayings and a serious look or smile depending on the subject. He set a daily example of working hard, and setting high personal standards. He loved to help others and took great pride in making gifts of wood in his shop. A favorite memory is of Paul coming up from the boathouse with a big Bass in his net, and joining us at the dining room table for a glass of red wine. His greatest love was for his wife Elisabeth, son Pete, daughter Shatzi, son-in-law Vaughn and his granddaughters Stephanie and Erica, great grandson Jack and his little slice of Heaven he built with his own hands on the Lake at Rideau Ferry. I'll never forget the love and loyalty he shared with his family and friends. We named our first son after Paul. Robert Paul Besch. He will be missed and never forgotten..."
