Our condolences to the entire Drew family on your loss. I had the good fortune to know George since I moved here from Ottawa 45 years ago through the sport of broomball. He
also became my mechanic when he had the garage on Chambers St. I would run in to him about four times a year in the grocery store
the last time being around Christmas.
His death caught me off guard as I was not aware of his cancer.

Our Younger Days

George and I went to school together, we had a lot of good laughs and were in competition with each other in high school especially in electricity we would challenge each other who would be the best at each electrical assignment, I think we were even steven. We had a lot of great chats especially at Lodge George belonged to St. Francis lodge and I belonged to Harmony Lodge. I will his wit, laughter and smile. </p>

Cell Phone

My son Jeff and George and Marie's son Daryl played hockey together and during one of our hockey games out of town I thought I had forgot my cell phone at Burger King. We were in Gatineau and of course there were a lot of french speaking people. I was so worried and George suggested I might have left it at Burger King and said why dont you call your cell and see if anyone answers. I thought what a great idea so I used a pay phone (at the rink) and proceeded to call my cell. Of course George...unbeknownst to me answered it and I looked over at him and couple of other fathers and said omg someone answered my phone. So I said did you find my phone at Burger King and George said pardon me miss I dont speak english very well...i looked over at the fathers...George in particular and they said ask him where he is...so I did...and of course then I heard the laughter and saw George holding my phone. This was just one of many wonderful memories of George and his humour. I will never forget that day and how much we laughed many times about it but most important of all is that I will never forget you George.</p>
