I worked with Jack on the railway in Sudbury back in 1977. He was a great guy and decent man. I hadn't seen Jack until many years later when he called my name out at the legion in Smiths Falls many years later. I couldn't believe he remembered me. We had many chats since. My condolences go out to Jacks family. Rest in peace my friend.

Mr. Ranger

What an incredible man. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ranger through my husband Blake. In 2004 we travelled together on a student Battlefield Tour to France and Belgium. I cannot properly express what it was like to have a veteran of the Second World War with us on that tour. Over the years, Mr. Ranger always accepted my invitation to come and speak to my Kindergarten students at St. James the Greater School. He was so very kind, sweet and eloquent with the children. A few years ago, Mr. Ranger participated in a tree planting ceremony on the school yard. Each morning, I take my little ones to the "Soldier Tree"/"Remembering Tree" as they call it, where we would say and sing our morning prayers. Blake and Ben are on their annual Battlefield Tour so on behalf of them as well as our daughter Rebecca, I say Rest in Peace Mr. Ranger. We will always remember you. With much love and thanks, Ann Seward
