To the Baker Family: Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I first knew this lovely Lady, being from Montague. I then got to know Sharonne well, when she worked for Dr. Kerr and I worked for Dr. Ashwell. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Sincerely, Marilyn.

Wonder Woman

Sharonne was the second Canadian woman I ever met. (Gramma Christie was first). It was 1967 and my then husband, Monte, (Sharonne's baby brother) and I had travelled from Boston with our baby daughter, Erin, to spend Christmas with the Baker's at their dairy farm. We had driven all day and arrived late on a cold, snowy winter night. Sharonne welcomed us, fed us and saw that we were all safely tucked into a beautiful big bedroom (Lynn's, I think). The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas, there were amazing amounts of delicious food and Christmas baking, loads of children, lots of presents and much warmth, laughter and joking. I soon found out that in addition to helping Glenn on the farm, raising four kids, baking EVERYTHING from scratch, feeding six people, three dogs (Nicki, Kelly and Leroy) and countless cats wonderful meals, making many of her own beautiful outfits and making it all look effortless......she actually had a day job at the pharmacy in town!

I knew right away I was totally out-classed. But, through all the many years I knew her, Sherry never made me feel that way. Through good times and rough times, she was always warm and gracious -- supremely capable but always modest about her many skills and accomplishments. For me, Sherry will always be wonder woman.
