My sincere condolences on Mrs. Huffman's passing. Mrs. Huffman taught me shorthand in Grade 10 and Office Practice in Grade 13 many years ago. As well as being one of my favourite teachers, she recommended me for a clerical job at Centennial Secondary School, which I started a week after graduation. I enjoyed Mrs. Huffman's desire for her students to do their best and was thrilled when she invited our senior business class to visit her on the farm. She was firm, encouraging, had high standards, and helped me to build a firm foundation for my forty plus years as a secretary and supervisor in secondary school offices. She may have been long retired and now gone, but her influence is still alive and well.

When I read of Marie's passing, memories flooded back of our days as colleagues at Centennial Secondary School; of social events; of car-pooling to Summer courses at Queen's; of art shows at Anneka's and to our last meeting at a Westport art Show where I re-connected with Marie and Judy, and met Robin.
Marie's legacy as an educator lives on in her students as Joyce Nussey so eloquently attested. Can there be a finer tribute than that?
My sincere condolences to Judy and Jackie and their families.

Dear Marie,
I an going to miss you so much. You were my mentor but even more you were my dearest friend. I love you and I'm so glad that Scott and I went in to see you and say goodbye. You were conscious at the time, there are no coincidences. This my friend you would have called a God wink. Say hi to Ray for me. We will all be together again sometime and I bet it is a much happier place where you and Ray are now. I will love you forever and always.
