It's hard to imagine never again hearing that dry wit, seeing that spectacular smile... I'll miss these things and so much else of our Brilliant Friend. Such a loss for all of us, but Mark, my heart goes out most to you.
Still, the memory of Dawn passing a mouthful of red wine through her nose over lunch at the Cove will console me.

My deepest sympathies to you Mark - and to all those who knew and loved Dawn. It is inconceivable that we will not see the shining light that was her essence. Thank goodness her works of art are here for us to enjoy...and remember.

Mark,
Heather and I were deeply saddened to learn of Dawn's passing. When After I spoke with you at the car wash the week before, I had hoped that we would have a chance to see Dawn. I am very sorry that we were unable to do that. Please know that you have our deepest sympathy and that both you and Dawn are on our minds and in our hearts. I'll drop by the car wash soon.
Take care, David

An Artist, a colourist. Full of wit and wisdom. Sharing her love of art, laughter, wine food, creation with those around her. Mark my thoughts are with you. I know the last 6 months must have been hard, and a relief for Dawn to be through them. In japan, death is seen as a time to create a complete portrait of a life. The treasures of that portrait are precious. My thoughts are with you Mark.

Special .
I met Dawn in the mid-1980's , we were heading to the Middle East to start production on three shows for the Canadian forces. Dawn was the sweetest breath of fresh air on our hectic trip. She truly touched my heart with her caring way, pleasantness, and professionalism. What wonderful memories of a truly special lady.

Potter extaordinaire: Dawn Burnham

Several years ago I purchased a very large orange bowl from Dawn at her studio in Maberly. She was clearly a talented potter and I immediately liked her work. Our cottage is in Arden ON and later that summer I returned to see more of her work where she was exhibiting on a "county artists" venue nearby. I purchased two more bowls in blue from her at that time.

Tonight as I went through some old correspondence I came across a card from Dawn and thought I should reconnect and enquire about taking some classes in her technique which was similar to Raku style from Japan. A difficult technique but one yielding extaordinary results. After a quick search I realized that was not to be. I wish Dawn, Mark and all their family and friends my most sincere condolences. She was a remarkable and warm person.
