For all of Marie's family, my deepest sympathy.
My memories of Marie are of her as a kid, running around and getting underfoot, as John and I were trying to get up to no good. Her smile and the sparkle in her eyes were contagious. And, yes, she sometimes blushed, too ! Fun remembrances for me.
Let the memories of all the good times sustain you during this difficult time.

We are truly sad that Marie has been passed away at this very young age. She definitely will be missed on Church St. as she always gave a friendly wave and bright smile to all who travelled this great street by the Church. Marie took Susan and Diane to the Manor in Kingston a time or two when she was a Queen's student. What a big adventure for 2 sweet young catholic girls from Church St! She was the best big sister ever! (She would want people to keep smiling)...But our thoughts are with you during this sad time.

So many wonderful memories of growing up with my cousins especially Marie. She loved staying over at the farm as a little girl. My Dad would tell her to eat up her porridge because it would make her hair curly!
Also I was honoured to have her as a bridesmaid on my wedding day.

We remember her as a bubbly, smiling and caring neighbour and friend.

Summer Student Marie
When Marie was going to university she worked as a summer student at the Rideau Regional and I was her Supervisor on the newly opened E6D. This unit was the first at the Centre to be a co-Ed. The program was geared toward community experience, so we frequently accompanied the Residents in to Town.
On July 1st the Town featured fire works at Lower Reach Park. This Park Is surrounded on two sides by busy roads and on the third side by the river, so it is risky for the inexperienced in the dark.
Marie, another summer student and I decided to take six Residents up to the Park for the event. Between us we did not realize that there were no lights in the Park.
We arrived there early, so that the Residents could experience the Park filling up with hundreds of people and cars.
We cautioned the group to stay together, parked the bus at the exit and found a place to sit. When it got dark and the first bang exploded, Louise, one of the Residents whom we knew was nervous and easily excited, jumped up, screamed and ran over people in the dark. We lost her in a blink of an eye. We notified the police and took turns searching with no results. The fireworks were coming to an end and we were desperate when Marie reappeared with Louise in tow. I asked her "Where did you find her." Marie's answer was "It was so dark I couldn't see a thing so I closed my eyes and prayed to the Virgin Mary, opened my eyes and there she was!"
I know that Marie truly believed her prayer was answered. Marie's faith served her well during her lifetime and will continue to do so,
She was a beautiful person , inside and out. We were blessed to call her our friend.
My deepest sympathies go out to she family, especially her three sons. We had a date with Marie on Auguat 30 to go on a boat ride on the Big Rideau with former coworkers and current friends (Doug, Colleen, Nancy, Ron and me). We will miss her.
