Ken Burns was a wonderful man, I will never forget his kindness to my mother-in-law when she was fighting brain cancer and knew that she was losing the battle, she went to his jewellery store and bought some items for each of her boys and daughter-in-laws and had them all engraved "love Mom". Ken realized that she was not well and he got her a chair to sit down on while she decided on the items she wanted to purchase for her family, she did not account for the cost of the engraving when she made her purchase and when I went to pick up the items that she had ordered after the engraving was done she was short the cost of the engraving and I was going to pay the extra myself and Ken waived the cost of the engraving since he had realized that she was not long for this world. I will never ever forget his kindness and I don't know if he ever knew how much it meant to her family that he did that for her.

In his honour, and recalling the good times his pals had with him in the Citizen's band,I hope you don't mind that I gave a donation to them. "Those were the days my Friend." His loving memory will live on in many hearts!
