Blackburn, Kent Kent Alexander Blackburn formerly of Smiths Falls passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) on December 20, 2008 following a three and half year daily courageous fight with cancer. Beloved husband of Laura (Woodward) Blackburn of Greely. Loved father of Derek (Carole) Blackburn of Manotick and Kristin Blackburn of Burlington. Loved poppa of Layla and Jaxon Blackburn. Dear brother of Sonya (Randy) Spurway of Desbarats. Uncle of Shaylan Spurway (Doug Duff) of Ottawa, Callahan Spurway (Brittany Morin) of Desbarates and Andrea and Michael Thomson of Toronto. Son-in-law of Shirley Woodward and brother-in-law of Wendy Thomson and Patricia Woodward. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Iola Blackburn. Fondly remembered by his cousins, extended family and many good friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Tuesday, December 23rd from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, December 24th at 10:00 a.m. Interment, United Cemeteries, Carleton Place at a later date.
