Dear Ruth and Anne,
I fondly remember David teasing his sisters and his Mom. He was warm and kind and always had a broad smile. I am so very sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

It was with a "heavy heart” I learned on Christmas Day of the loss of my good friend, and Lanark County "Icon”, Cy Dugdale. Ironically, it was John Millar who advised me of the passing of "Cy” at the Annual Christmas Dinner at Code’s Mill which was filled to capacity, a feat largely accomplished by both John and Cy, and their many volunteers. Cy had been asked by John to take over the organizational task of this popular event, which Cy undertook with ferocious energy. I remember running into Cy in mid-December as he canvassed for funds in one of Perth’s local retail establishments, and I knew in a moment, by the excitement in his voice, that it would be an immense success.
It was, and Cy would have been proud. His pride also extended to his funding for CHEO through his now legendary "deer-hide” fundraising program which raised thousands of dollars for The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. On several occasions, I had the pleasure and honour of conducting several radio interviews on Lake-88.1 with Cy, most recently on December 17th, and I distinctly recall him literally "lighting up the studio” with his excitement and enthusiasm for his two "pet projects’. Reaction to those interviews from our listening public was overwhelming. I will miss Cy as a good friend. "The Lanark Highlands” will be poorer with his loss. My sincere condolences to Norma, his children, His family, and his Legion of Friends in Lanark County.

It comes as a complete shock to our family to hear of Cy's passing.Cy was a next door neighbour to me and my family on top af a big hill in Lanark for many years. He was so much more than a neighbour though, always willing to lend a strong helping hand, and often quick to offer his advice to others. This world would be a much nicer place to be if there were more people like "Cy" walking amongst us.
To Norma and the rest of Cy's loved ones, our thoughts and our prayers are with you at this difficult time.May you find some peace in knowing that you now have one very unique and strong guardian angel to give you the needed strength and guidance to get you through this day and the many tough days ahead.Cy will be missed by sooo many, ourselves included.
With sincere condolences,
