Schokking, Jan Unexpectedly in hospital in Ottawa on Saturday February 28th, 2009 Jan Schokking (owner of Lanark Leeds Distributors, Smiths Falls, Past President and long time member of the Smiths Falls Rotary Club, Past District Governor Rotary International, former chair of the Youth Exchange Program and recipient of a Paul Harris Fellowship) at the age of 83 years. Cherished husband of Johanna (Briede) Schokking, loved and respected father of Yente of Toronto, Jan Jurriaan (Annelies) The Netherlands, Ronald (Lisa) Toronto, Bryan (Rieneke ) The Netherlands, Ian (Debbie) Prince George, BC, Mark (Joanne) Lombardy and Karen of Smiths Falls. He was predeceased by his sister Jaqueline and granddaughter Esther. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren David, Alex, Tim, Elsbeth, Ayleen, Haley, Anne, Tamar, Mathanja, Edward, Willem, Ava, Asha, Matthew, Melissa, Kally-Jean, Samantha, Taylor, his brother Ward (Lida) Schokking of Maarssen, The Netherlands and sister Claudine (Martin) Rodenburg of Sydenham, Ontario and many good friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls Wednesday March 4th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. A tribute to Jan's life will be held in the chapel Thursday at 11:00 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Reception Centre.
