At his home in Athens surrounded by his family on Sunday March 8th, 2009 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Barbara (Furlong) Irvin for 49 years. Loving father of Shannon King and Stephen and Christopher Irvin. Much loved Poppa of Cody, Katina, and Kelcy King, Brandon, Janelle and Lance Bigras and Casey Irvin; proud great grandfather of Brody King. Honorary Poppa to Melissa Gingras and Deashanna Kirk. He is survived by his sister Rita (late Fred) Duff, sister-in-law Kathleen Irvin and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret (Nagle) Irvin and his sisters Mary, Jane Anne, Loretta Irvin, and his brothers Francis (late Francesca), Alexander, James, Bernard and Leo Irvin; sadly missed by his good friends Pam and Michelle Gingras and Samantha Burnette. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth, on Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John's Church, Perth on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lanark. In remembrance, contributions to Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) or the Brockville General Hospital (Palliative Care Program) would be appreciated.
