It was a pleasure to have known Avis. A lovely lady and devoted volunteer at the GWM Hospital. We had many conversations about her cats especially Missy. RIP our Auxilliary Angel.

I had the great pleasure of working with Avis-who volunteered at the GWM Hospital and she was truly a wonderful lady and committed volunteer-she was also a valued friend and we would have tea at her house and walk through her wonderful gardens-which she took so much pride in and Missy the cat was her pride and joy--we also had a lot of laughs together and I shall miss her---just another bright star to brighten up the heavens--with deepest sympathy to her family---Cathy

To all the Sparks, I am so sorry for your loss. I'll always remember how proud Avis was of all of her children, and how much she adored her grandkids. Godspeed Mrs. Sparks.

It was my pleasure to see Avis as I would pass her home for walks,or see her frienly face at St. Paul's
I believe that she is celebrating in heaven with her dear husband. Their's was a deeply committed marriage.
May Avis find a peaceful ending to her life on earth, and find eternal joy in heaven.

Joanne and family,
I am very sorry for your loss. It was a pleasure to work with Avis at Lanark Lodge (physio dept). She was such a sweet lady who continued to be concerned with how everyone else was doing before herself. We always enjoyed hearing about Sandy Cove and her love for it. She will be missed.

We are so very sorry for the loss of your mother. The obituary brought back many fond memories of the Avis that I knew. She was always in good humour and always made us (friends of her children) feel welcome. Though the last couple of years may not have been kind to her, I am sure that is comforting to know that she is with her beloved Clifton. Rest in peace Avis.

Hi Bruce ,Joanne, and Gary. I always liked your mum and sensed that you liked and loved her very much.I hadn't seen your mum since your father's funeral, but kind of kept up to date with her through phone calls to my mother and the occasional update from Bruce. My mum's short term memory is pretty well gone , but she does remember things from the distant past, and a couple of weeks ago she was telling me about your mum and dad's wedding day. Please let me know when the service will be in Sandy Cove My phone is 902-452-1595. email: sithurism@gmail.com. Sincere sympathy to Avis' family. Avis was a special member of St. Paul's United Church. Her love of music will continue as I listen to Brad playing her piano on Sun morning choir practises. May all of your special memories help to console you.
