We are so sorry that Joan is no longer with us. We send our sincere condolences to her son, Richard, and extended family.
She was a 'big sister' to the Codes next door and a life-long friend. Her wit, wisdom and kindness are irreplaceable. We will all miss Joan terribly.

Joan is the main reason I am a Public Health Nurse today. She inspired me when I was still in high school at PDCI when she came in to have an informal session with any interested senior students. She then was my advocate when I applied to work at the Health Unit as a relatively new RN. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her in the Perth office; she was passionate and a true advocate for her clients. She made me a better nurse by leading by example and being supportive. I will miss her.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I will always remember Joan with great respect and fondness. Joan was my mentor when I was doing my consolidation at the Health Unit in the RN program. She carried herself with such grace and dignity and had a warm relationship with all of her patients. She was a kind and lovely lady and I will always remember her. With great fondness and respect. She walked the talk and left a great impression on me. She will be missed but will always be a part of everyone who knew her.

I wish to extend my condolences to the family of Joan (Dietrich) as she was the best and most out-standing nursing teacher I ever had at KGH, she taught neurosurgery and motivated me to take an interest in that field of practise. She also became a friend at the Jewish General in Montreal and we often crossed paths. She was both genuine, lovely and brilliant. You are all lucky as a family to have been related and I am sure she will be very much missed.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I enjoyed looking after Joan through Carepartners home care. I didn't get to alot but really enjoyed all the visits I got to have with her. We had some very pleasant visits. I loved the day I took her out on her scooter for the first time. she was so nervous and couldn't get the controls to work properly for her. We had a good laugh. Especially when she scared the squirrel and it ran up the tree and started chattering at her. Joan will definately be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her
