So sorry to hear of Stu's passing. Stu was such a wonderful person to have around and the best neighbor anyone could ask for. Will always remember coming home from a 12 hr shift during a snowstorm to find he had cleared my driveway. Very thoughtful and respected man. All the best to the family during this difficult time.

Although I only knew Stu since 2011, upon meeting him, we quickly bonded with a similar sense of humour and love of animals. I was a close neighbour until 2013 when I moved to Ottawa. After my move, every time I spoke with or saw him, he would teasingly remind me that I "took his girlfriend Abby away" (my dog) - they had grown very attached to each other and she would almost turn herself inside out with joy when she saw him. I can honestly say, Stu was one of the nicest people I have ever known. Rest peacefully my friend - I will miss you. To the entire Hannaford clan - keep all the good memories close in your hearts.

We met Stu three years ago when my mom moved in to Carss Ave. Apartment. Stu loved to tell me stories about how he and Bev used to tease each other and he enjoyed teasing us about those dreaded "Sens”. He took great pride in showing off his Leafs’ watch! We formed an instant friendship with him and looked forward to chatting with him in the apartment foyer.
Our deepest sympathy to all of Stu’s family.

Dear Ron and family, It is hard for me to fathom I met your Dad some 60 years ago when he lived in Kemptville and worked at Marvin’s! He was in his mid twenties, boarding at EdIe and Merl McCurties and I was a neighbour a young girl in my early teens! That’s when you thought someone in their twenties was old! We always had a long chat when we met up in Smiths Falls and reminisced about Kemptville! He will be remember by me as a caring, kind ,gentle man! May your precious memories be close to you at this difficult time! Sincerely Cathy &Stu

So sorry to hear of Stu's passing. When my parents moved to Aberdeen street in 1994 it was right across the street from Stu. He came right over to welcome them and he and my dad (Ken Smith) became friends. This was quite amazing because my dad didn't have friends. But then, Stu was an amazing man!
Condolences to the family.

Dear Hannaford family,
My deepest condolences to you all. I've known Stu since the time I started working at the Brockville Street Home Hardware, many years ago. I always enjoyed his chats and seeing his wonderful smile. Many years later finding out we shared the same birthday, was very special. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. Keep your memories in your hearts, and when you have a sad day, smile and remember those times together. Hugs.
