LLOYD, Gwendolyn (Gwen) Alice (nee Clark): Born in Wilmot Valley (Summerside), PEI, Gwen passed peacefully at Carleton Place Terrace, Carleton Place Ontario on March 1st, 2018 in her 86th year. As a Nurse, RCAF Wife, Mother (and Hockey Mom) and later a Real Estate Agent, Gwen spent her life making the lives of people around her better. She lived a full life, living in numerous places around the world (with the RCAF family) and experiencing many adventures which she loved to reminisce. In her quiet way she always put the needs of those around her before her own. Gwen was pre-deceased by her Husband of 49 years the late H. Blake Lloyd (March 2004). Gwen will be greatly missed for her compassion, good humor and gentle manner by her children Clark (wife Elaine) and David (wife Sandra), her grandchildren Lindsay Moore (husband Brody), Evan Lloyd, Alison Lloyd (fiancé Malcolm Reid), step grandchildren Lauren and Christopher Teiman and great granddaughter Malaiya Moore, her siblings Helen Smallman (George), Dorothy McIntosh (Alan), Maurice Clark (Collette), Liz Tanchak (Johnny deceased), as well as her in-laws Grant Lloyd (Marion), Sheila Kelly (Bill), Betty Molnar deceased (Barney deceased), along with her nephews, nieces and many friends that were, to her, also family. At Gwen's request there will be no viewing. A private family interment at Schomberg Union Cemetery will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy the family would respectfully ask that donations are made to Canadian Cancer Society or Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. The family wish to thank the staff at Carleton Place Terrace for the professional and compassionate care extended to Gwen and themselves during the past few years while she was in their care.
