Paul, Thelma Jean (Gemmill) Thelma passed away suddenly surrounded by the love of her family in Perth hospital on Monday, April 30th, 2018 at the age of 76 years. She sadly leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Delmer Paul, son Erwin (Janet Douglass), daughter Karen (Greg) Sergeant and five cherished grandchildren Myah, Anna, Beth, Liam and Lila. Thelma is also survived by siblings Kathleen (Gordon) Stewart, Miriam (Lorne) Wood, David (Donna) Gemmill, Clarence (Betty) Gemmill and Dorothy (Winston) Purdon and brother-in-law Alvin (Isobel) Paul. She was predeceased by her parents Eldred and Lila (Ashby) Gemmill and sisters-in-law Florence (Lindsay) Ferguson and Julia (Jack) Duncan. Thelma will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and her church congregation. She gave much of her time and talents to the community where she had lived all of her life. Thelma was a teacher, an award winning quilter, was known for her prize winning pies, and loved making maple syrup, her farm and gardening. She was an Elder, Clerk of Session and choir member at the Elphin Presbyterian Church. Most of all, Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandma who was devoted to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., West, Perth on Friday May 4th, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in the Elphin Presbyterian Church. Interment Crawford Cemetery. A reception will be held in the church hall following the interment.
