Brooks, Arthur George WWII Veteran - Bomber Command Art passed away peacefully in the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre, Ottawa on Friday, May 11th, 2018 in his 97th year. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Clara (Dyke) Brooks and his sister Margery Rideout. Art was the adored husband of Rita (Albert) Brooks and father of Marc (Janice) Brooks. He was the proud grandfather of Shauna Brooks (Dave Hodge), Jillian Brooks and Derek (Stephanie Breda) Brooks and great grandfather of Jaxson. Art will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sister June (late Tom) Parrish, his nephews, nieces and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Gatineau 1 North and Rideau 1 South, Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre for their care and compassion during the past two and one-half years. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., West, Perth on Thursday May 17th, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 A.M. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In remembrance of Art, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society of Lanark County "Day Away Program” or Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
