Dear Laurie, Taylor and Brennan,
Thank you for letting us be part of your extended family and allowing us to get to know and love your cherished Nan. Although we only knew her for the last ten years of her life we will have fond memories of sitting around the kitchen table sharing stories. She will be missed. All our love Jeanette, James, Meaghan and Michael.

Her beloved Clear Lake indeed … when I think of Mrs. Gamble (although she told me a thousand times to call her Jean – she was always my beautiful Mrs. Gamble). I remember her open arms and loving hospitality, always welcoming whoever dropped by – whenever they dropped by! She would play "Spite and Malice” with me for hours on end, talking about nothing in particular … I loved her very much. I will never play a game of Rummoli or hear a song by Dwight Yokem without being reminded of her and the simple pleasures she so willingly shared with us all in her lake home. She will live forever in my memories.

When I clicked this link and I saw Jean's picture a huge smile broke out on my face. You taught me to play hearts, you allowed me to express my angst as a 15, 16, 17, and 18 year old teenager struggling to find her place, and navigate her way through those often turbulent teenage years. You welcomed me with open arms, you put up with our teasing and Laurie's uncanny impressions of you know who! You let all who came to your table ( you can read biblical inference) be themselves, figure out who they were, feel safe, laugh, cry, and feel accepted. That is no small task Jean!!! You did it all with great humor, love, and such an open heart, that the name Mom is probably spoken by many, not just your own children!. It is funny that 30 plus years have passed yet when I think back to those days in high school you were such a predominant figure and part of my life. I have no doubt that many would have such recollections of you.

Jean you have always been my second Mom and dear friend. What great memories I have of good family times we spent together over 35 years or so.
You have shared your kindest heart and your most beautiful spirit imaginable and I aspire to have that myself for my friends and family to enjoy like I have yours.
I can't wait to celebrate your special life up at the cottage in June. We'll woop it up for you Jeanie just like you would love. Miss ya Doll xo.

Mom, its hard to believe its been just over a year now and it still feels like yesterday. The hole in our family hearts is still as large as ever and wishing you were still here with us to watch the kids grow and mature. I know you would be very proud of them. Hoping you have all the happiness you deserve in Heaven! Love you and Miss you always! Laurie xoxoxox
