I served tea to Ernie at a local Perth spot for 6 yrs... that is how I met him. It was not long until he knew my families names and I heard alot about spots in his life. Always great conversation...interesting and alot of times some funny tales. Even over the years when I or one of my children would meet Ernie out and about... he always spoke, with that twinkle in his eye and endearing accent. I loved it. What a fine, kind and endearing soul. To his family, My deepest sympathy.

OMG, I just read this , this morning. Oh Ernie, I am so much a better person from having met you, driving you to appointments. The laughs we had, the great conversations, will be so missed...You were one special guy, and I will remember you forever.....RIP darling Ernie

Ernie you will be greatly missed,but your in a much better place where there is no pain sorrow or regrets. My wife and I enjoyed our visits over the years and wished we had more time to come visit you in Perth.Life is so very short and if only people could put aside their differences what a better world it could be. We shared many pains and sorrows that we both endured, but it made us stronger for it. I know you touched many lives in a very special way, through Art, conversations and your sense of humour. Enjoy Heaven !

Ernie will be greatly missed by all of us at PEP, especially our Friday Fellows, volunteers & Social group. Often described as a gentle soul with the big heart, who loved to make us all laugh and feel special. He never judged and always saw the good in everybody and everything, he seemed to know who needed that extra hug or friendly chat.
