For those of you who remember Bill & Mary Jane Newell, I am their eldest daughter. During my younger years I had the opportunity of meeting Gord & Joyce on many occasions at our home (1 Riddell) and their home (Phelan Street) in Woodstock. I remember being on Gord & Joyce's back deck feeding a squirrel - and subsequently being bitten by that squirrel! The things you remember...so long ago. I also had the opportunity of speaking with Gord in August of 2004 when my dad died and reminiscing some of their good old times. It seems so long ago...
My sincerest sympathy to the family and friends of Gord and Joyce and to the memories of so long ago.
Susan Gillen (Newell) - Woodstock, Ontario

It was a pleasure to know Gord through many years with Ontario Hydro and to work with him in the latter part of his career. He always brought wit as well as wisdom to the table and was a real people person. My sincere sympathy.....Bill Fraser

jOYCE AND fAMILY. So sorry to read of Gord's passing. We worked together at Hydro both in sales and as Area Managers. He was great to work with as well as treasured as a friend.Who could ever forget his sense of humour,he seemed always to have an amusing aside to any situation. He also bragged constantly of Joyce's Ceasar Salad, said it was easily the best in the world and backed that up with an invitation to anyone who wanted to show up with a head of the right type of lettuce to reach their own conclusions. Those who knew him will agree I'm sure that our world will not be nearly as interesting without him.

To Joyce and family. My sympathy goes out to you at this time. I worked for Gord in Clinton Area of Ontario Hydro and he was my best manager of all in 30 years of working there. He was a fun, happy person. I will also remember the day after he came to Clinton him taking us all into the lunch room and telling us we are "one big happy family" and so true it was. I also remember buying his "T" bar roof Ford car and also Joyce you giving me sweaters of Debbie's for my girls. My love goes out to you at this time of grief. Just remember all the fun and good times that you two had together.
