Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side in hospital in Perth Tuesday, May 25th, 2010. Beloved husband for 60 years of Helen and loved father of Cheryl (Brian) and Vern (Julie); cherished grandfather of Meaghan (Bill), Amanda and Robyn and great grandfather of Brooklyn. He will be missed by all his extended family and friends. Ted was born in St. Boniface Hospital, Manitoba. He lived his early years in Piney Manitoba, joining the army at age 16. He served as a Paratrooper, in the Light Battery and in the R.C.H.A. for 28 years. He ended his career as Property manager at the Recreational Centre in Ottawa. Ted reached out for everything life could offer, he enjoyed golfing, reading, gardening, boating and many years living on the Rideau watching the sunsets. He will be remembered for his incredible smile and his great sense of humour. The family wishes to thank Dr. Asrat, the nurses and staff on the 3rd floor of the Great War Memorial Hospital for their loving care and compassion during his long illness. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation, 33 Drummond St. West Perth, ON K7H 2K1 would be appreciated.
