Whalen, Bernard J. Passed away peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls with his family by his side on Sunday, July 11, 2010 Bernard James Whalen in his 89th year. Loving and devoted husband of Kathleen (Goodie). Father of Frank and Dan of Smiths Falls, Anna Moore of Vancouver, BC and Marie (Dave) Forbes of Rideau Ferry; and grandfather of Colleen and Joseph Seal, David Whalen, Scott and Mark MacGregor, and David and Danny Forbes. Bernard will also be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Church, Smiths Falls on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute.
