Joan & Betty
I had the privilege of working with Jim at Perth Police for a number of years. Jim was a very gentle man who was a delight to work with, he had quite a sense of humour. Jim fought MS with courage & he is finally released from his suffering.
My thoughts & prayers are with you at this time.

Jim is in many of my earliest memories...I remember he babysat my sister and I when I was very young...let me hang out at the pet store and pester him with questions...when I was older I remember sitting outside in the dark discussing the stars...Jim taught me the proper way to crack open a soft-boiled egg...and that tomatoes were best eaten with malt vinegar and salt...he helped me save a butterfly that was caught in the car's front grill...taught me how to carve my first pumpkin...was brave enough to be a passenger in my first car...
So many memories that I will cherish forever. Jim was a wonderful person, and my life is so much the better for having him in it.
My Honorary Uncle - You will be greatly missed.
Sincerest condolences to Joan, Betty, and everyone whose life he touched.

I met Jim on an MS support group many years ago and learned to love his humor and range of knowledge. I counted him as a good friend in my MS family. I'm going to miss him. I think I'll remember him in an eternal tomato garden with so many varieties he'll have trouble keeping count.

Joan and family, my deepest sympathies to you all at this time of sadness. I worked with Jim for many years in Perth and he was a kind and thoughtful man. I remember when he first told us about Joan and how happy he was when she came to Ontario. You made the remainder of his life happy and full Joan. He will always be remembered by me and I'm sure many others whom he touched with his kindness. May God be with you in your time of sorrow and always.

As with others who've left messages, I met Jim online in an MS discussion/support group many years ago (we were frequent sparring partners as well as frequent mutual supporters), and like most of them, I've never met him in person although I've spoken with him by phone a few times.
I'll miss Jim hugely. He is loved still, and so are you, Joan. Please know you're in my heart, and that Jim's in a good place... no one would dream of sending him off to a bad one.
Oh, and Jim... please tell Gaylan we miss her too, OK?

Dear Joan and family:
I am sad to hear of Jim's passing but I know he is in a better place. I will miss Jim but I will treasure the memories of the time I was able to share with him. Jim was a kind, generous, humerous and knowledgeable man. I learned so much about " tomatoes and computers," from him and life in general,as well.
Joan, you, yourself, have been an inspiration for him and it was quite apparent that you and Jim did share magic moments.I hope you find comfort in all your memories of the special " time " that you and Jim were able share and be together.
My thoughts are with you all...take care.

Joan ~ my thoughts are with you. I've just looked at the pictures of Jim and saw a smile that would light up a whole room.
When I saw your message I was not surprised as I recalled that your last message indicated that he was spending much time in bed. My next immediate thought was 'how wonderful that you two had more than nine years together'.
I do hope that Jim's final days were peaceful.
I know that as the days go by you will miss him AND that you will focus on all the good days and times.
Fondly, Donna
