I am so sorry for your loss. The process of dealing with this will become easier with the support of all of your friends and family. If there is anything I can do please let me know. Marc was one of the most generous and kind hearted people I had ever met. Whether it was over a good cup of coffee and a pizza at 'The Gourmet' or watching Animal Planet in the living room, Marc only had positive things to say about every situation he faced and for that he will be missed dearly. Stay strong everyone.

Dear Patricia, Donna, and Family,
I may not have knew Marc but I know Donna and how she talks so highly of her father and how he was a big inspiration to be the person she is today, kind, loving, strong, and caring. I may never know how you all must feel with the loss of such a great person, who has touched the hearts and lives of many of his friends and family. If you need anything at a difficult time like this (big or small) dont be afraid to ask. May your hearts and souls find peace and comfort. Sending my most sincere sympathy and condolences. Lots of love Samantha

Devin, Patricia and Family,
Unfortunately I never got to know Marc as well as I would have liked to over the past several years. That said I knew him well enough to say that he had one of the biggest most passionate hearts I've ever been around. To not only Devin, but even myself, Marc was always curious to know how I was doing in life. Whether it was with my career, academics or sports it always meant so much to me that he truly cared about the answers I would give him.
These memories along with countless trips to ball fields and arenas, I will never forget. From what I knew of Marc he was a great man and will be sorely missed by many.
To Devin and Patricia I wish you the very best.
Love always,
Kriss

Thank you so much for letting me know. Marc was such a wonderful man. As you know I had a very special place in my heart for him.
You were his tower of strength. Your sense of loss must be great. Hopefully, with time your life’s journey will become smoother, although never the same.
It has been such a privilege to be a part of Marc’s care team.
Be well.

Marc was an inspiration in life and work. He will be greatly missed by many people whose lives he touched as an outreach worker in Ottawa. He was known for his sincerity, his modesty, his professional dedication, his great puns and his winter biking! It is an honour to celebrate his life. Thank you Pops for everything.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. I wish I had gotten to know Marc more.
One of the time when Justin and I went up to visit, I remember Patricia said
" I just keep talking and Mark can never hear me so we're perfect." And nothing is more true.
I am grateful to have met him.
Sending a lot of love,
Jenni

Pops was the best father a girl like myself could have. He appreciated my trucker mouth but also my kind heart. He loved me for me. I will be forever grateful for all that he taught me. If it wasn't for him, I would have never entered the social work field. In fact, a lot of techniques I use are ones I learned from him. He was also a shining example of what a husband should be. Kind, generous, never too many I love you's and super supportive. He loved us all so greatly and unconditionally. My brothers and I are so grateful for that. His love of animals was another thing that I greatly admire. He always took time to admire and reflect on nature's beauty. That is a wonderful trait and one I will continue to do in my day to day life. I love him so much and my heart is broken knowing we won't go for pizza again or bad coffee. I love you Pops and everything I do in the future will be in our honour.

Dear Justin,
I am so very sorry that such a wonderful person such as yourself has had to witness a loved one suffer and lose someone so dear to you. Although I have been through this, I am still at a loss for what comfort to offer such an immense loss. What I do know, is that having raised such a kind and generous son, your father must have been very proud and his life -though way too short, was a valuable and meaningful one.
Know that Bryde and I are both here for you always.
Sending you and your family much love and hugs,
Natalie

Dear Patricia and Family:
Marc has been a friend for over 20 years. He was an excellent support when I first joined the mission staff. Marc would respond to crisis calls for outreach assistance for the people that lived on the streets or in the shelters. Marc was a generous compassionate spirit. He was well known and well loved by the people who lived at the margins of life.

I was saddened to hear of Marc's death. He was such a sincere and genuine person. I fondly remember him biking through all kinds of weather to support clients living with mental health problems and addictions when we worked at C.M.H.A in the 90s. His agenda was always bursting with post-its of to dos, but he made time to talk supportively to guys on the street who were so comfortable to approach him. I cherish his memory.

Dear Patricia and Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Mark's illness and death. I worked with Mark for over 5 years at the Royal Ottawa Hospital, it was always fun, always a pleasure. In the few years I knew Mark he taught me many lessons- a pioneer in so many ways, always advocating for our marginalized clients.... Mark is one of the most generous people I have known, of his spirit, his time, his gifts, and his friendship.
My thoughts are with you and your family Patty.

Very sorry to learn of Marc's death. We crossed paths in the early 90s when he was working for the City of Ottawa. He inspired me as a social worker starting in the field. I remember later visiting rooming houses with him and working together to try and assist people with problems. He will be missed.
