I was told of Boyce’s passing when I called the Willowdale Retirement Centre last week on Mother’s Day; afterwards I came across this online posting. Boyce and I were Big and Little Brothers in my teen years and we kept in contact after he had moved back to Smiths Falls from Toronto. During those years, visiting Boyce and Lucille, going bowling, collecting stamps, and woodwork were favourite pastimes. My Mother had also passed away about five months previous. Losing two loved ones so close has been very hard. Boyce had given me this poem when I was about 15 years of age. “Roger, We are friends, and this is why, You are you and I am I, Boyce.” I wish to extend my sincere sympathy and condolences to Lorraine, Jan, Betty, Bill, Joyce, Phyllis and the whole Ritchie family. Love Roger.
