An Honour to have known Judy. She was a delightful caring person. Our family feels blessed to have known her. Always on a mission to care and give ambition to help others. Anyone she met she touched and did so with her gifted grace. My son, Chris worked for her at Lens Cove Marina. He absolutely adored Judy. She left many fond memories and stories. Our deepest condolences to Emily, Judy's Mom, Dad, and brother. Judy will be greatly missed for all her achievements and caring and sharing.

I worked for Judy at Len's Cove Marina as her first dock girl. She was so easy to talk to and was not just a boss but a great friend. I always admired her for her caring way, ambition, intelligence, and attentiveness Whenever I think of all the great times I had at Len's Cove she was apart of so many of those memories. My sincere sympathy to Emily, and Judy's Mom, Dad and brother. She talked so fondly of all of you. Heaven has a special lady with them today.

I was privileged enough to work with Judy as her VP over the last few years. She always impressed me with her compassion for students and phenomenal understanding of how to teach effectively. At the same time she lived a whole world outside of school- volunteering and attending lectures. She was also always ready to share a laugh and a story about her daughter of whom she was so proud. A loss to education and more importantly a loss to the world...

It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now,it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring back the smiles.
My heartfelt condolences to you Emily, and Robert and family on the loss of your dear mother, sister, daughter. I have never had the pleasure of meeting Judy, but I am sure she was a wonderful woman and will be sadly missed by many.

So truly missed!
From the first days I set foot as a teacher at SFDCI, Judy has shown me such phenomenal maternal instincts and took me, a kid straight out of college and wet behind the ears, under her wing to help show the ropes of this profession. I'm forever grateful for all the priceless advice she has given me throughout the years.
Anyone that worked with Judy quickly realized that she worked so hard, and she did so in such a positive light; without ever losing an ounce of integrity along the way. She wasn't afraid to stand up for what she believed in, but it was always in respect to helping others and never showed any selfishness whatsoever.
I'm so truly thankful for the time that I was able to work alongside and, more importantly, known Judy as a person and ultimately a friend! I believe the first thought that resounds when people think of Judy is that she was truly such a caring person! She touched everyone in such a positive way, and it's impossible not to acknowledge the lives she has touched both inside and out of this profession. From your great sense of humour, to your professionalism and guidance: Judy, you will be so truly missed!

Class Act
Judy will always be remembered by me as a class act - she was always professional in the classroom, yet knew how to get her frustrations and opinions across in the nicest way in the staff room. She was always there for staff bridal showers, baby showers, parties, etc. She supported everyone, all of the time. Her selflessness and easy nature made her a friend to all that knew her. I can't imagine the school being the same without her, but I can only hope that some of her personality traits have stuck with me and that one day someone will look at me the way I look at Judy. God Bless Judy, Emily, Bud, Mom and Dad, and all her knew her.

Feeding the Hungry
Judy felt very strongly that every child should have the right to access nutritious food, at home, or at school when necessary. She was instrumental in helping the Food for Thought program at S.F.D.C.I. grow with the needs of the students. She cared so much for her students: she was a mentor for me.

Remembering your kindness and warmth
When our son Kevin brought Emily home for the first time, we knew she was special. We met Emily's mother, Judy, shortly thereafter and quickly understood why. Judy and her family invited us to their farm last spring . We had a lovely time as she and her brother guided us through the maple syrup production process. She graciously and warmly welcomed us and made us feel like family, as she has done with Kevin. We appreciate the many kindnesses extended toward us and Kevin and feel privileged to have had the opportunity to have known Judy.

An Easy Friendship
The thing that I will remember most about Judy is our conversations in the staff room. I always knew that when I saw her sitting there, I could join her and have a conversation about anything. She was very easy to talk to, so much I always called her 'Jude' instead of Judy. Jude always seemed interested in whatever it was I said to her, even if it was some ridiculous story about my kids. She was a really lovely person, and her presence will be sorely missed.

A true portrait of caring
I had the great honour of working with Judy at SFDCI last semester. I had been bumped from my previous school and was nervous about starting somewhere new. She sent me an e-mail before the semester started and reminded me that we had met before at a Tools for Teaching workshop in my first year of teaching. She always made me feel like I was welcome and took the time to stop by and see that I was adjusting well. She truly cared for everyone she came across. Even though what she did for me may have seemed small, she truly made an impact in my life and I am saddened by this news.

The Recipe for a Good Life
Below are the words that graced the front cover of a card I received from Judy early last year and I truly believe she knew it to be true.
"The Recipe for a Good Life": Start with a generous blend of love, laughter, and sharing. Add family and friends and mix well. Stir in plenty of time to smell the flowers and learn new things along the way. Blend in equal parts work and play. Sprinkle with gratitude and savor!
Chère amie: You were a role-model and a friend. You taught me the recipe for a "good life". You will always be remembered for your generous soul and caring ways.
