Poole, Laura A. (Munro)
Laura died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and caring staff of Sharbot Lake Senior Home on Monday, July 11th, 2011 at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her parents William and Alice Munro and in 1999 by her beloved husband Stuart Poole. Laura was the cherished mother of Mary-Ann (Phil) Simpson of Deep River, Linda (Paul) Batoff, Jim, Janet and Gord (Marnie) Poole all of Perth. Laura was the much loved grandmother of Olivia Simpson, Melanie Batoff (Paul Louth), Andrew Batoff and Emma and Hallie Poole. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Amy Hughes, Edna Ritchie, Ethel Clark, Irene (Keith) Hawley, brothers Arthur (Susan) Munro, Alan (Maxine) Munro, sisters-in-law Eleanor Munro and Edna Leeworthy, brothers-in-law Ron Hinge and Gray Palmer and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Stuart Munro and sister Hilda Hinge, and brothers and sisters-in-law Garnet Heaslip, Jim White, Jim Hughes, Stan Ritchie, Harold Clark, Irene Palmer, Ed Leeworthy, Cardiff Poole, Dorothy and Angus Thompson. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair and Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., W., Perth on Friday, July 15th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery, Perth. In remembrance, contributions to St. Paul's United Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated. Laura will be remembered for her wonderful culinary skills, service to her church and community and maternal care of her siblings, children and grandchildren.
