I didn’t know Bob for that long and I can say that I only met him in person on perhaps 5 occasions. The first time I met him in 2013 I could see he was a funny and mischievous chap. It was my first visit to Canada with my wife Joanne and we arrived at his apartment which he shared with his lovely wife Francine. I could see he was excited and perhaps a touch nervous about seeing Joanne again and, of course, me for the first time. He was hiding behind a door and intermittently poking his head round the door in a naughty but fun way. I knew I would like him straight away.
It is a shame I didn’t get to know Bob better but the last conversation I had with him on a Skype video call I could see that even though he was gravely ill he was still showing he had lost none of his sense of fun, wit and charm.
It was very touching to note that Bob was looked after so well by Francine. Francine - you have a heart of gold and I wish you the very best for the future.
You will be missed Bob - RIP.
