Gary passed away peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls on Sunday, May 5, 2019 with his loving family by his side at the age of 74. Gary was the dearly loved husband and best friend of the late Brenda (nee Rose) Banting. Cherished father to Kevin and Janna and foster father of Robin Parnell all of Smiths Falls. ‘Pa’ will be missed by his grandson Dylan. Dad to twins Shane and Scott Banting. Predeceased by his parents Errol and Marie (Terry) Banting. Brother of Sheila, and the late Terry Banting. Gary was best known for volunteering and giving his time to others. He was involved primarily with CAS fostering children and coaching minor hockey and baseball. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
