Oates, Daniel Leo Vincent Retired Sergeant ~ Canadian Forces 1952 - 1977 Passed away peacefully at Kemptville General Hospital on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the age of 84. Loving husband of the late Sheila Murphy. Devoted father of Michael (Mary) Oates, and Kelli (Roger) Nicholas and Patrick Oates. Cherished grandfather of Devan (Mary), Jenna (Adam), Michael, Breanna, Nicole, Christopher, Daniel, Noah and Abigail. Proud great-grandfather of Ava, Alea and Isobel. Loving brother of Margaret (Leo) Kolenousky and the late Charles Jefferson. He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Mildred Jefferson, his close friends Debi McEwen and Marc Loubert, as well as his many extended family. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Sunday January 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church, Smiths Falls on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Blessed Sacrament Cemetery, Lombardy.
