A quote from Phil's beloved "A Child's Christmas in Wales" by Dylan Thomas "Looking through my bedroom window, out into the moonlight and the unending smoke-colored snow, I could see the lights in the windows of all the other houses on our hill and hear the music rising from them up the long, steady falling night. Dear Gisela and family, Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved husband and a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend to many. Over the years, I have enjoyed wonderful stories and pictures, shared by my father Bill, of great golf adventures embarked on by a group of close friends. I pray it will bring some comfort to know that Phil is now in the arms of a loving God, the same Heavenly Father who created this beautiful man.

I was saddened to learn of Phil's passing. I first knew Phil and Gisela when I was invited to the Xmas party at Elmwood Lodge. I was always impressed by their concern for and kindness to their residents. Later my wife and I enjoyed having lunch on Sundays after church at Perth Manor. Phil would often stop to chat with us. I enjoyed a brief chat we had this past summer when I ran across him in Perth. My sincere condolences to Gisela and the other family members Alistair Catterson

I was so sad for all of you. I have many fond memories of Phil at the cottage, the Manor and various events. He was a center figure in many family gatherings. It has been an unimaginable roller coaster ride for the entire family especially Gisela. He will always be with you in your memories and in your heart. Rest in peace Phil.
