To the Burchell family, we extend our deepest condolences on the loss of Anne. I spent a lot of time in my youth, much of it misspent, with Cathy and Deb; Fred was way too cool to hang out with his younger sisters; Paula was way too connected with her horses but she did teach me how to be an equestrian of some renown. Anne, on the other hand, actually kind of scared me. She was so organized, so tidy, so pleat-perfect; it seemed somehow unnatural in a household of chaos. She was like one of those dog whistles; when she spoke, the pack, or in this case the Burchell siblings, would stop their squabbling, ears up and backs straight and resume life at a more serene and dignified pace. They did not know why; instinctively, they just did. I think Pauline had given up so it was up to Anne to bring order and decorum back to the household. Anne had a smile that went on forever. She had a sense of style and panache to be envied. She had poise. She was dedicated to her family and to her hometown. If you were from Perth, you knew or knew of, Anne Burchell – her goodness, her kindness and her thoughtfulness touched so many that she will long be remembered and missed. You have a multitude of fond memories of Anne and most of them involved laughing. Keep them close and may they always be a blessing and a comfort. Love Kate, Larry and Edith

My sincerest and empathetic condolences to all of Anne's family.
You know, Anne was older than me...the proverbial "older woman"...by 4 whole days, to be exact! She occupied the bed next to mine in the GWM nursery. We were great friends from that time on....particularly in our early teens when we were, well, just incorrigible. What great fun we had.
You have lost a true star; one of the friendliest, warmest people in the whole world. The stars are twinkling just a little less brightly over Perth. Bon voyage,Anne.
For the Burchell family, warmest regards from the west coast.

So sorry to hear of everyone's loss in Anne. I am only one of so many who had the privilege of getting to know Anne and can truly say I will miss her smile and the kind soul she was. Although we have not crossed paths for some time she has always been in my thoughts and lessons are to be learned in the absence of ones friends when life gets too busy.

To the Burchell Family:
Anne, it is two months now since you passed. I think of you so often. I think of our first meeting in 1962 at PDCI, our high school romance and then the solid friendship we had ever since. I know you're smiling down on all of us and sometimes I think I hear your infectious laugh. I know my mind is playing tricks on me, but hopefully sometime we'll meet again and just pick up where we left off. We always said we would be friends for life. Always know that so many people miss you, including me.
