It was an honour to be a friend of his for more than 25 years as a swimming partner, work mentor, wise and caring person. His laid-back character and smile will always be in my memory as a person with a great personality. Sympathies to Iris and the rest of the family. Rest in peace friend as I hope to see you again someday.

Iris and family, Bruce and I were sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Over the years I have always heard wonderful stories about Jim and his keen mind and kind nature. He will be missed by many folks, I am sure.
It was our pleasure to have had a last visit with him at Aunt Madalene's home, last Spring. We enjoyed chatting with you both that day, and Jim made my day by saying he remembered and enjoyed the singing of Amazing Grace in the Park,; it must be 51 years ago!
May your many years of memories bring you comfort.
Most sincerely, Bruce & Nancy

I met Jim at the swimming pool as I’m sure did so many others. For years through the 90’s and beyond Jim was a regular there posting his nightly mile swim. Jim always had a friendly smile and a kind word for anyone around him. He genuinely liked people and delighted in interacting with them. I met him again at the pool years later, his health much declined, but still smiling and still seeking engagement with all around him. No more mile swims, but he still loved being there. He was a bright light in Perth, and I will miss him.

Dear Iris I am on the phone with my cousin Norma Cameron and she just told me about Jim’s passing (and being very apologetic about not letting me know at the time). I am so sorry for your loss. I have memories of walking through the lane and seeing you and/or Jim at your end. When I am next in Perth, I hope might see you. Janice

Memories

So sorry to hear that Jim has passed away. I remember those days in Perth staying with my aunt and uncle and of course Jimmy and June Huthchings. My aunt and uncle were so kind to let us stay with them while we went to high school and later working. How wonderful Aunt Lot and Uncle Bill were to let us stay with them.

Jimmy with his quiet sense of humour. I remember one night he set an alarm clock under June and my bed and it was set to go off at 2AM . Of course we couldn't find it either. Probably woke everyone up. So many good memories. I also remember them coming out to the farm on a Sunday and the fun we had.

You are in God's hands now where we will meet again some day. Loving memories Your cousin Nora
