Obituary of The Right Rev'd. Patrick Vaughan Lee

The Right Rev'd. Patrick Vaughan Lee Retired Anglican Bishop, Diocese of Rupert's Land, Manitoba June 20, 1931 to September 26, 2010 After a very full and adventurous life, Patrick Vaughan Lee left the earthly world behind and went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, September 26th, 2010, in hospital in Perth, Ontario. Although brain cancer has taken his life, his spirit lives on in all those he blessed with his time on earth. Patrick was the cherished husband of Mary E. (Thornton) Lee, loved and respected father of four girls whom he affectionately called "all his bad luck". Sharon Lee (Rama Mkakatu) of Perth, Ontario, Sandra Lee of Pickle Lake, Ontario, Laura Anne Fink (Christopher Fink) of Calgary, Alberta and Suzanne Wray (Jeffrey Wray) of Winnipeg, Manitoba. From this group of "bad luck girls" came six very accomplished grandchildren of whom Grandad/Babu was very proud. Amanda Wray, Katie Wray, Bryan Wray, Daniel Fink, Andrew Fink and Baraka Mkakatu are carrying on in their grandfather's tradition of living life to the fullest and in making their part of the world just a little bit better. Besides his wife Mary and his daughters and grandchildren, he will also be missed by his faithful canine friend, Kobi, who happily was allowed to visit him in the Perth hospital. Friends and family are invited to join for the funeral service to be held on Friday, October 1st, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in St. James Anglican Church, Perth, Ontario. The interment will follow a funeral service to be held at a later date in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In remembrance, memorial donations to the elevator fund of St. James Anglican Church, Perth, the Perth & District Food Bank or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Tyrrell and the staff at the Perth hospital who cared for Patrick with dignity and respect. Also to the many from the Parish of St. James who helped out with driving and visited Patrick during his last days in hospital. Many thanks also to the women of the CFUW who supported Mary and provided wonderful meals. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth, (613)267-3765.
