Peter Donald Sinclair December 5, 1928 – February 16, 2020 Peter passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at the age of ninety-one. Peter’s passing came with an equal measure of heartache and solace after a ten year ordeal with dementia. Peter will be missed by his ever loving wife Kathleen “Kaye” (Campbell) Sinclair, and leaves behind his children Paul (Milly) Sinclair, Thomas (Ronda) Sinclair, Robert (Lori Spence) Sinclair, Mary Sinclair; grandchildren, Stuart, Kathleen; Pamela, Duncan, Christine; Kate, Ann; and great grandchildren, Addison; Thomas and Daniel. Peter was predeceased by his father J. Havelock Sinclair, mother Matilda “Tillie” Sinclair, and brothers Colin Sinclair and Harry Sinclair. Peter was born, raised, and attended school in Perth where his parents owned and operated J.H. Sinclair Florists. As a youngster Peter would often spend time helping out in the shop after school. In 1949 at the age of 21 Peter joined the business, but it wasn’t until his father’s passing in 1958 that Peter assumed more and more responsibility for managing a burgeoning business, and in 1962 at the age of 34 he purchased the business and property, lock, stock and barrel from Tillie. Peter continued to grow the century old business until his retirement on January 1, 1997. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “The earth laughs in flowers.” Peter Donald Sinclair lived, loved, and laughed in flowers.
