Obituary of Kathleen Elizabeth Sinclair
Kathleen “Kaye” Elizabeth Sinclair (née Campbell)
January 5, 1930 – May 20, 2020
Kaye passed peacefully in her sleep during the wee hours of Wednesday, May 20, 2020, just a few short months following the passing her much beloved husband Peter Sinclair.
Kaye was predeceased by her cherished husband, Peter Sinclair; her parents Charles M. and Annie (née Ballantyne) Campbell; brothers Don (Ruby) Campbell, Gordon (Dorothy) Campbell, and sister Helen Kneale (née Campbell). Kaye leaves behind her children Paul (Milly) Sinclair, Thomas (Ronda) Sinclair, Rob (Lori Spence) Sinclair, Mary Sinclair; grandchildren Stuart, Kathleen; Pamela, Duncan, Christine; Kate, Ann; and great grandchildren, Addison; Thomas, and Daniel; and Kaye’s many nieces and nephews.
Kaye was born on January 5, 1930 to Charles M. and Annie (née Ballantyne) Campbell. Kaye grew up on the Campbell family farm with her parents, brothers Donald and Gordon, and sister Helen.
Kaye attended the proverbial one room school house in the country before continuing her education at the Perth Collegiate Institute (PCI). After graduating from PCI Kaye attended nursing school in Toronto, and in 1951 she joined the staff of the Civic Hospital in Ottawa.
It was 1954 when Kaye bore the first of the four children she and Peter would bring into the world – Paul, Tom, Rob, and Mary. Kaye was a very nurturing and supportive mother devoted to the wellbeing of her family. She selflessly provided an untold amount her time, energy, and enduring love to both family and friends.
All those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Kaye will remember her for her, patience, compassion, charitability, benevolence, and heartfelt smile.
Kaye and Peter were married on July 5, 1952, at St. Andrews United Church in Lanark. “I’ll Walk Beside You” was sung by Mr. Doug Halpenny during the wedding ceremony. Seems appropriate again at this point in time.
I’ll Walk Beside You
Edward Lockton / Alan Murray
I’ll walk beside you through the world today
While dreams and songs and flowers bless your way
I’ll look into your eyes and hold your hand
I’ll walk beside you through the golden land.
I’ll walk beside you through the world tonight
Beneath the starry skies ablaze with light
Within your soul love’s tender words I’ll hide
I’ll walk beside you through the eventide.
I’ll walk beside you through the passing years
Through days of clouds and sunshine, joy and tears
And when the great call comes the sunset gleams
I’ll walk beside you to the land of dreams.
