First of all, I'm so so sorry for your loss. It's hard to put into words how great of a guy Gerry was so I will leave this picture here to help... He gave this to me one day, and although he may not have known at the time, I had been dealing with severe anxiety, self-loathing and depression. This card was and still is a wonderful gesture and reminds me to stay true to my path in life. Along with this, he always welcomed and greeted me with a smile and it's the little things like that, and this card that mean the world. I will miss seeing Gerry's face at Asbury, may he rest in eternity. - Sam Cowie

To Caryne and your family with deepest sympathy. You were our neighbours when we first returned to Perth and we were privileged to have had you and Gerry as part of our community since. Gerry was a true gentleman and was so much a part of the services for many of our departed friends. It is so unfortunate that we were unable to attend a service to celebrate Gerry.

To my little sister Caryne, and Tony, Marsha, Ethan, Johnathan and Patrick. We’ve all lost an unforgettable person with the loss of Gerry. We know that he will certainly be remembered by all that had ever met him. How can we as a family ever forget the many get togethers over dinner where we shared many stories and enjoyed the sumptuous meals in your home. We also heard many times of the pride he showed in his family …he was so proud of the kids. Gerry came into our lives 54 years ago and we were blessed that this happened. We will miss him every day…rest in peace Gerry. Caryne, we know the memories nurtured over the years will sustain you in the days to come.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for all the McEwen Family in their loss. Gerry was a kind and caring individual who went out of his way to help others in need. He was extremely kind to my Brother Gary while he was recouperating from a leg injury a few years back as well as being a pillar of support for Gary when he was terminally ill in hospital. He will be missed by many, but remembered by even more. Rest in Peace Gerry.
