Dave, Kelly and family,
Sorry to hear that "Red" has left the building and our lives; I'm happy that he made so many people laugh and enjoy a brief conversation and a hug. I originally met your Dad when out with Bob Kerr...the daring wild food guys. They feed a few people great healthy game for a few years. Glen and I got reacquainted while walking outside and hanging out with the hockey nuts at Timmies'.
He hated that he had to stop eating really food like bacon, that made me laugh. I know that was just a line.
Dave your Dad always told me that I needed a hug; we all need hugs. If I could be there I would hug both you and Kelly.
2020 has been a really challenging year for everyone. Please accept my condolences at this time of sadness and celebration of a live well lived.

I started hunting with the Tombstone Hunt Gang when I was a teenager. I had met Red before this but this is where I got to really bond with him. I was a young girl at the time but he never let that be the reason I couldn't do something. He always built me up and made me feel like a true member of the gang. He was a true mentor to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Not only was he a mentor but his quick wit and one liners always had the gang in stitches with laughter. He will be sadly missed and the gang has certainly lost one of the good ones.

Patty and I extend our condolences to Marion,David,Gregory and the entire Blair Family. Red was a positive influence on both of us as a couple, as well as our 2 boys. R. I.P. So many memories, as a kid. Hockey practices at 6:00 AM. Getting in Red's Cutlass to go to practices and games. David. Gregory. Marion. Rick Plontz. Huck Nolan. Louie Hart. All of these great people have helped shape my life. Red...he is special. He's not gone. He'll always be with me.

I have many fond and playful memories of my time and experiences with Red leading the charge, as only he could do.
He had an energy and commitment to getting involved, getting things done, helping us and our communities grow and somehow being around Red was always lively and fun.... never a dull moment. Most importantly he cared about people, and this obviously continued throughtout his life and various volunteer efforts.
Later in life I learned of Red's support of fellow workers at the CPR, a perfect fit and so typical of Red. I can't imagine a better guy to have battling on your behalf.
Years earlier, he had lobbied the cashier at a 401 truck stop to provide free meals for the team bus drivers, he was insistent and the cashier was more than a little surprised when I was presented with Steve Bennett as the 17 year old drivers of our van...classic Red.
So thank you Red, Plontzy, Jim Nolan and Jim Donor among so many who helped us grow, make some lifelong friends and have a little fun along the way.
Marion, Dave, and Kelly, Greg and families I am sincerely sorry for you loss, Red was a loving family man, a special guy, he will be missed by all of us.

Marian, David, Greg and families...I am so sorry for your loss....Red was an almost mythical person in our community but I know he was much more to all of you and the extended Blair family. I know he and my Mom has a special admiration for each other...he always liked to remind me of that whenever we met each other. Over the years he and I had many fun and funny chats about so many memories including those times when we lived less than a block away from each other. Red certainly left us all with many good memories. May his memory and all the memories of him be a blessing to you.

In my Dictionary under Friend their is a picture of Red. Someone you could count on and that you had respect for. He was a big help to myself when we were running the Tournament of Champions for a number of years. He loved to go for a coffee and catch up on the news. Now I can say "If only I had seen him one more time" That's that way it was with Red he was someone you wanted to see again. I used to smile and laugh when each time he would grill me on "Do you know so and so" He knew so many people it would have been an impossible task to even try. Goodbye Red old friend, your memories will last with me forever. Marion you take care and be strong. Pat and I will stop in the next time we are over to the Falls. Bob Dickson - Clayton ON

My deepest condolences to the Blair family. I personally benefited tremendously from Red’s tireless efforts and devotion to give kids my age the opportunity to participate in events that likely would not have happened without Red’s involvement – hockey trip to Sweden, several hockey and baseball tournaments in Ontario, Quebec, and the US. So many memories that will stay with me forever, and for that, I am indebted to Red.
So a deep felt, personal thank you to Red for providing me an opportunity to flourish as a young boy and man. Sorry I cannot be there in person to pay my respects during these unprecedented times.
Thanks for the guidance and the memories Red. You will be missed.

Dear Marion and Family: I was so saddened to hear of Glen's passing.....but he is now with the Savior he loved so much! So many fond memories of when Polly and I were in Smiths Falls.... the 'wild men's beef dinners' and always a smile on his face Sunday mornings! He was a blessing to so many! Polly talked me into leaving Glen my favorite cowboy hat when we were moved to a church in Saskatchewan.... I never regretted it for a moment! I trust the peace of the Lord will be with you all through this tough time..... Doug Torrance
