Dear Mary Lou, Linda, Joanna, Philip, William, Douglas, Lynn, Erin, We know you will surely all miss your dear husband, father and grandfather! Phil will also be missed by so many of us to whom he was a kind dear friend, both here in Montreal, and then in Rideau Ferry. But what a comfort to know that he is now safely "with Christ, which is far better"! We both remember him being close friends with both of our fathers, George and Ewald, and we have certainly appreciated the kindness that you and Phil have shown us, Mary Lou, in having us stay overnight on many occasions in your cozy "boathouse suite" at Bass Lake, where we would enjoy drifting off to sleep hearing the lapping of the water and the calling of the loons, after a day of experiencing true Christian hospitality and fellowship, including your delicious meals! Dear Mary Lou: You always spoke so sweetly of your dear husband, and were so patient regarding the many restrictions in just wanting to go visit with Phil.
