I remember Roger well although we were only connected for a few years. We lived in the same co-op house at 1 Regent Street in the Glebe while attending Carleton University in 1963/64 and kept in touch around music for a couple more years. Others in the co-op were Rolf Petersen, Sean Kane, Paul Baldwin, Paul Loucks, and my brother Gary Porter. We had a lot of laughs and many great times in that house and my fond memories of Roger centre around those times and learning to play guitar together. I think he had a Martin-0018 or 00-28 at the time. It was his pride and joy. My contribution to his playing was teaching him finger picking and in particular, the patterns for a favourite song of his at the time -- Bob Dylan's "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" as recorded by Ian & Sylvia.
