Fred passed away peacefully at his home on the Big Rideau Lake on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in his 90th year.  Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Bunny” Haughton.  Loved father of Dan and Adele (Lafreniere) and Karen and Jerry (McCaw).  Sadly missed by his grandchildren Erik Baker (Samantha), Andrew Baker (Ashley), Selin Gurnsey, T’Keyha McCaw, Scott Haughton, Hunter Haughton (Stajia Begin), Taylor Haughton and Cole Haughton and great-grandchildren Aurora, Emmett and Alice.  Predeceased by his sister Hilda Pero and brother Allen Haughton and survived by his sister-in-law Margery Haughton.  Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.  Fred worked for 25 years with the CPR, was the previous owner of the Kilmarnock Apple Orchards and worked for many years in financial planning until retirement.  He loved to fish and hunt, spending time on the lake and most of all enjoyed socializing with friends and family.  He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.  Due to the current Covid-19 guidelines, private visitation and services will be held at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls with private interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  In memory of Fred, donations to Trinity United Church or the Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
