Collins, Elizabeth Ann “Beth”
Beth peacefully went to join her Savior surrounded by an abundance of love, at Lanark Lodge, Perth Ontario on Friday, April 9th, 2021 in her 90th year. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Edd Collins. Beth was the daughter of the late Bill and Mime Niven. She was the cherished mother of Paul (Holly), Pat (Rhoda) and Marnie; adored grandmother of Chris Collins, Robin Collins (Ethan), Jennifer Somerville (Jason), Soleil Turmel (Adam), Josh Collins (Chelsea) and Natalie Stolc; special great grandmother of Amber, Emily, Cailyn, Sylvia, Robbie, Benny, Sage and Charlotte.
Beth Ann and Edd were born in Niagara Falls and moved to Perth in 1963 when International Silver (later Heritage Silversmiths) relocated. Over the years Beth would become a devoted Perthite. Beth was the grandma kids dream of; with an active imagination, lots of fun craft activities and relaxed household rules. She had many friends and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, quick wit and love of music and the arts. In earlier days, Beth was well aware of the interests of her friends and loved to pass on clipped newspaper and magazine articles, taped radio programs, books (she was the librarian at Asbury Free Methodist Church) and internet resources. She was a wonderful story teller and a great conversationalist. Often when you called her to tell her something, you’d hang up and realize that you were so wrapped up in the conversation you’d forgotten to mention it. The family extends their special thanks to the kind staff at Lanark Lodge, and the caring and compassionate staff of Honeysuckle Haven. She will always be missed and fondly remembered.
A private service will be held for the family. In memory of Beth, donations can be made to The Gideons International. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
