CHAPLIN, Gary John, LLB. September 8, 1943 - June 28, 2019 Gary passed away in hospital in Perth on Friday, June 28th, 2019 following a short battle with cancer. Son of Doris (Gamble) Chaplin and the late Donald Chaplin. Predeceased by his wife Patricia M. Warren-Chaplin. Survived by his brother Grant (late Carole) Chaplin, his niece Christa (Jeff) Turcotte and his nephew James (Amber) Chaplin. Gary was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, Honours Arts program and the University of Ottawa Law Program. He practiced law in Perth for 43 years and was the sole proprietor of Rubino and Chaplin following the death of his law partner Tony Rubino. Gary always described himself as a "Small Town Lawyer". His wisdom and guidance will be missed by many. He will be sadly missed by all his breakfast, golf, hunting and fishing buddies whom he cherished dearly. Following cremation, a private service will be held in Elmwood Cemetery where Gary will be placed with his late wife Patricia. Our family would like to thank Dr. M. Lai, Sandy Shaw and all the nursing staff at the Great War Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during Gary's struggle against the effects of cancer.
