“Mom has joined Dad in Heaven”

 

Barbara passed away peacefully in the Perth Hospital with family at her side on Friday, June 25th, 2021 at the age of 80 years, She was predeceased by her parents Fred & Rita (Bernicky) McWilliams, her beloved husband Elmer Abercrombie, and siblings Donald McWilliams, Shirley McWilliams and sister-in-law Donna McWilliams.

 

Barbara was the cherished mother of Ken (Sandra) Abercrombie, Dave (Jay) Abercrombie, Shirley Abercrombie, Rosemarie (Raymond) Porter, loved grandmother of 11 Grandchildren:  Travis (Alexis), Julia (Andre), Kendra (Joel), Joshua (Trinda), James (Caleidgh), Patrick (Alanna), Cole (Sarah), Cody, Tricia, Houston (Matt), Spencer and 15 Great Grandchildren:  Eva, Isla, Ashton, Scott, Connor, Seamus, Braeden, Lilly, Parker, Joseph, Steven, Alexander, Aleah, Zackary, and Zoey.

 

She will be sadly missed by her brother Clifford (Bonnie) McWilliams, Sister in-law, Ona Closs, (late Eddie) as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

 

She will always be remembered for her loving heart, bright smile, and her many rescues of assorted animals. Barbara will be especially remembered for her amazing singing voice that many of us had the pleasure to hear. “Now she can sing with the Angels.”

 

Due to current restrictions, the service will be held privately for the family in the chapel of the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 at 10:30 A.M.  Interment, St. Stephens Cemetery, Brooke.  Those wishing are invited to join the service via Zoom link at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87865978084

 

The family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff from the Perth Community Care Centre for taking such good care of Mom when we couldn’t.  Sincere thanks as well are extended to Dr. Ferrier for his amazing Bed Side Manner with us and his compassion, as well as the Staff at the Perth site of the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital
