I had the privilege of knowing Ella when she volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society. Ella was always on time and willing to do anything we asked of her. We shared many a story over tea breaks that may have lasted longed than the average break I will say a prayer for her and all of you at this difficult time

My thoughts & prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. May you find peace to ease your sorrow. There is comfort in the memories of our loved ones. Embrace them, for they are gifts that will remain forever in your heart. Although I did not know Ella, I did meet with her on a few occasions. One of those occasions was when we had a photo shoot at PCC for our Legion Veterans' calendar. Ella was a real trooper during the entire process. I will remember her as our Ms. July. The other occasion was when flags were put at PCC for Ella's birthday. She was brought out to see the flags & was very appreciative. I'm sure it brought her back to her days as a WREN in the Royal Canadian Navy. RIP Ella, & thank you for your service... "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal."

Ella Thomson was a long-serving and valued member of the Board of Perth Seniors Fellowship (formerly named Perth Seniors Craft Fellowship). She helped our organization in its development of activities for seniors at McMartin House. For many years, right up to the beginning of the Covid-19 shutdowns, she also participated enthusiastically in our Friday Bridge Club Activity. Members of the Bridge Club will miss her well-mannered and positive demeanour, her frequent smile and her skill as a bridge player.
