If there ever was a perfect grandfather, father, and husband, it was Grandpa Ronnie. From big events to little moments, Grandpa was there with a grin for the milestone reached, a pocket knife for the package that wouldn't open, and a story for the listeners who surrounded him. His grandchildren coveted his invitations to rock in "Grandpa's chair" or go "back to the barn" with him. He showed us the proper way to feed and brush a horse, the perfect ratio of peanuts to frozen yogurt in a sundae, and the best technique to stay on a sled that is being pulled around a snowy track in the winter. Grandpa's kindness and compassion continue as hallmarks of his legacy. The way he took care of the people, creatures, and places around him continues to inspire his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren today. This is perhaps best represented in the 62-year love story between him and our grandmother, which is impossible to forget. While we miss him every moment, we know that we will see him again, most likely in the heavenly stables, when it is our turn to come home.
