Orma first came into my life 35 years ago when she was assigned as respite caretaker after my son Cory at age 4 had major orthopedic surgery and was in a body cast for 6 weeks. She came and stayed with him while I did grocery shopping and other chores in town.
In those days there was only respite for the mentally challenged so it was such a relief to have her help us.
You can imagine, she was a gift to us and I'll never forget her support, so badly needed at the time.
Many years later when I joined the Carleton Place Scottish Country Dance group, she recognized me and it was a happy reunion.
She made an impact on everyone she met, so sad to have her leave us.
