Obituary of Sherle Perkins
Perkins, Sherle Elizabeth (Feb 16, 1936 -Nov 5,2021)
It is with great sadness that Sherle’s family announces her passing after a brief illness on Friday November 5th, 2021. She was the dearly loved mother of Justice Heather Perkins-McVey and her husband David McVey; beloved Grammy of Matthew (Nika), Meaghan and Kate Perkins-McVey, and great grandmother of Judah.
She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Doris (Taggart) Perkins, brothers William (Joan) and Harry (Nancy) Perkins. Sherle will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, family and so many good friends.
Sherle was a graduate of McGill University and awarded a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto. She had a distinguished career as a teacher and educator at high schools in Perth , Ottawa and Toronto. Later she worked as a Management Consultant until her retirement. She was a Life Member of University Woman’s Club (Perth chapter), enjoyed her book club and was always up for a game of Bridge. She loved to play golf at Links O’Tay and skied for as long as she was able. She loved her family fiercely and her friends were always close to her heart.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth Thursday November 11th, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in St. James Anglican Church, Perth Friday at 11:00 A.M. Those wishing to honour Sherle’s life are asked to consider memorial donations to St. James Anglican Church or the Perth & Smiths Falls Hospital Foundation. Please note proof of double vaccination will be required for those attending the visitation.
