Veteran WWII

Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the age of 98.  Beloved husband of the late Mary (O’Kane) Higgins.  Loved father of Maureen Urquhart (Frank), Brian Higgins (Mary Anne), Christopher Higgins (Val), John Higgins (Laura), Elizabeth Laderoute (the late Ron), Frances Workman (Wayne) and Alice Higgins-Taylor (late John).  Sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  Predeceased by brothers Lawrence and Raymond Higgins and sister Margaret Muldoon.  Jack was involved in many sports activities including softball and hockey, coached and managed many sports teams.  He was actively involved in his community, a strong supporter of the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation, member of the local school board, involved with the Lions Club and Knights of Columbus and the longest serving parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church is Kemptville.  Jack will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family, friends and all who knew him.  Family and friends are invited to join for the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kemptville 503 Clothier St. Kemptville on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE – the mass will be live streamed through the Holy Cross Church website youtube.com/c/HolyCrossNG  and also afterward on Jack’s memorial page on www.blairandson.com    In memory Jack, donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.  Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls Chapel 613-283-2800.  Condolences/donations/tributes to www.blairandson.com  There will also be a Celebration of Life planned at a later date.
